"Being in church at St John is a meaningful experience. I felt God's presence so vividly."

You are invited to worship our God in this place.
What happens on Sunday mornings?
we sing
we pray
we listen
we talk
we hope
we ponder
then, after all that, we hang out together mingling in our cafe with a cup of quality coffee or tea and we munch on very tasty homemade cookies. We love talking with one another.

As Christians,
we value worship,
friendship,
and
Jesus.
We like cookies just because everybody likes cookies!

The banners at the front of our sanctuary share four provocative words: PRAY PRAISE LOVE SERVE

These four words shape our lives and the activities and programs at St John.

When we pray in simple, honest words, God knows our hearts are seeking Him — even as He is whispering our name, and beckoning us to draw near.

The Prayer of Jesus

Once a month, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper at our Communion Table.

(There are gluten-free options.)

Every Sunday, we gather together as a faith community to worship God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. We have a 7-8 person worship band with singers, guitars, piano, and djembe. There’s a thought-provoking video on our big screen, moments of reflection, teaching in the 20-minute sermon, and prayer.

We seek to honour God through praise, standing together as those seeking to discover Jesus, and those who have walked with Him for many years.

We offer age-appropriate children’s programming with dedicated volunteers who have a heart for children. After the first set of songs, the children are invited to go out with the teacher.
For your comfort, know that our volunteers hold police record checks.

As well, you should know that we love babies and toddlers – please be relaxed if they make a little noise now and then. Just like you, they are welcome in our worship time.

At any time during church, parents are welcome to use the nursery with its comfy rocking chair, change pad, and inviting activities for wee ones that are walking.

During the worship service, our Elders are available to pray with you at the back of the sanctuary as well as at the front.

  • Baptism

  • Funerals and Memorials

    Jesus Comforts His Disciples

    John 14:1-3 (NIV)
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

A Funeral or Memorial Service is used to mark the end of a person’s life here on earth.
Are you searching for a place that can:

    1. Honour your loved one,
    2. Enable family and friends to come together to express grateful memories and grief
    3. Give thanks for their life

At St. John, we understand how difficult this may be, and we encourage you to contact us to see how we can help to make this time a little easier. If you have any questions or require further information, please contact the church office at 905.387.2135 or by email at office@stjohnuc.ca

  • Celebrating Advent and Christmas

From the first Sunday of Advent to the 7:30 PM Christmas Eve candlelight service, we love to celebrate with joy in anticipation of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We sing favourite Christmas carols, contemporary songs, special music, and hymns, all carefully chosen to deepen our faith.

There are many highlights over ADVENT:

    • Lighting of the Advent Candle, each Sunday
    • Blessing of the quilts crafted by the Sew and Sews group
    • Remembrance of loved ones by personal candle lighting

    Christmas Eve

  • 7:30 pm enjoy our family Candlelight Service

As Christmas is coming, ADVENT is on our hearts as we anticipate that God stepped onto Earth into sandals on the feet of Jesus.

Babe in a manger
Teen in the temple
Teacher of scriptures
Healer of diseases
Friend to the poor
Mentor to the disciples
Man-God on the cross
Saviour of the world

Beyond the turmoil and uncertainty, there is reason to HOPE. This Christmas … discover HIM.

  • Celebrating Easter (Holy Week)

You are invited to join us during Holy Week as we journey through the Easter Story and reflect on its significance.

    Palm Sunday

Join us in the Sanctuary for a time of worship as we celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

    A Quiet Prayer Space
During Holy Week, the sanctuary will be prepared as a quiet prayer space. Prayer stations with scriptures will be displayed throughout the sanctuary. You are invited to come at your convenience and use this quiet space to draw close to God during this meaningful week leading to Jesus’ death and resurrection.

As we draw close to Jesus in prayer and silence, may we more fully grasp the profound significance of His sacrificial love and resurrection power.

    Good Friday

Join us in the Sanctuary for a time of somber worship as we remember the Cross and the sacrifice of Jesus. He died for our sins.

    Easter Sunday

Join us in the Sanctuary at 10:00 AM for joyful worship as we celebrate the Risen King.

  • Summer at St. John
