Come out and support Neighbour-2-Neighbour

Thank you to all who have helped us help those in need.  

On June 27, 2020, St. John hosted their first food drive to support the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre (28 Athens St., Hamilton).

In that first drive we were able to deliver 1044 pounds of canned goods, rice, pasta, cereal, diapers, soaps etc. to N2N.   Since N2N is able to mass purchase items, they also accept cash and their dollar can be stretched farther than our dollar.  Every dollar donated to N2N produces $11. worth of service to neighbours in need.

To date, St. John has hosted 8 successful food drives (with more to come), collecting a total of 5369 lbs. of food and $2,775.00 in cash and cheques. (tax receipts are mailed, directly, for each donation of $20 or more).

So, whether it is a jar of peanut butter or a case of canned vegetables or a few dollars – every little bit helps. Our food drives have also partnered with SOCKS, Sew and Sews, and City Kidz.  Reaching out to help in any way we can.

We thank God for opening up generous hearts and guiding everyone to St. John’s Queensdale doors.  We are, indeed, blessed!
