Drive-by, Drop-off Food Drive

Due to the province-wide stay-at-home order to safe-guard against Covid 19; the Drive-by, Drop-off Food Drives have been temporarily cancelled until it is safe for us to resume again.

When we resume again, you will be invited to join us at our next Drive-by, Drop-off Food Drive at the Queensdale doors of St. John United Church as we gather food and personal care items for Neighbour-2-Neighbour and other organizations. Tables will be provided to place your bag of items on. Please be sure to wear a mask. Social distancing will apply.

Are you wondering what to bring?
Canned foods ie. soups, vegetables, meats, etc.
Kraft dinner, oil, sugar, flour, cereal, oatmeal, rice, peanut butter, dried beans and personal care products ie. shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, menstrual products, etc.
Diapers size 4,5,6

Together let us bless others in Jesus name and for His glory in this hurting world.

DRIVE-BY, DROP-OFF FOOD DRIVE & FUNDRAISING EVENTS

St. John United Church began Drive-By, Drop-off Food Drives and Fundraising opportunities during this time of Covid-19 restrictions.

The food drives allowed everyone the space to safely social distance while wearing their masks but still do something for those in need. Vehicles could be seen along Queensdale Ave as participants dropped their bags of groceries onto the awaiting table and greeting team.

Together, with our neighbouring community, we were able to bolster the supplies at Neighbour-2-Neighbour with over 3,400 lbs of donated food supplies and over $500 cash accumulated through four Drive-By, Drop-off events.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time or resources to help Neighbour-2-Neighbour during this time of great need!

Some of the other Fundraising opportunities that accompanied the Food Drives were:

Sew & Sews: Accumulatively, Sew & Sews were able to raise $2,000 for their special outreach project.

Cash for Kenya! S.O.C.K.S. (Supporting Orphan Children Kenya Schools) Approximately $8,000 was raised for families in Kenya. These funds provided basic food supplies for many vulnerable families and kept a roof over their head. For further information on S.O.C.K.S. please see their website at www.sockscanada.org.

Wesley Centre: Bags and bags of warm coats, scarves, mittens and gloves were gathered through the Drive-By, Drop-off events.

A special thank you goes to our team of volunteers and the community at large for rallying together to help so many in need. We could not have done it without you!
